In the Dallas Fort Worth area, we are plagued by stupidity in the news media.
For instance, there was a person that hijacked a truck and drove it all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This person was followed by a number of police cars, they cordoned off most of the highway.
The news media not only picked this up, but broadcasted it on TV, they were showing the actual route of the truck and giving the names of the exits. People viewing this on their TV decided to go out in the street and watch this vehicle go by.
The news media, which broadcasted this and were showing constant updates for this truck moving was a party to blocking the highway, because the group of idiot viewers trying to see this 18 wheeler, parked on overpasses (blocking traffic on the overpass). Stopping on the highway (literally parked on the highway). Just to see a truck going by with the gunman, sitting between the seats (he wasn't able to be seen).
I never knew that there were so many idiots all in one place. The news media broadcasting an event like this show is how ignorant, stupid, and will disregard for anyone else some people could be.
I still have trouble getting over people parking on the highway, blocking lanes, and not getting a ticket for it. There was probably so many fools that the police couldn't write enough tickets, or there were so many cars they didn't have enough police to perform this action.
This event was not only carried by one news broadcasting agency, but by all of the major agencies in the area. From the helicopter, you could see police cars, you could see people on overpasses, and you could see people in the opposite lane is stopping and blocking traffic on the highway.
You would think that after the news media saw what an effect they were having on traffic they would have enough common sense to stop the broadcast. But that would take common sense which they do not have; someone would have to point that out to them.
